Merlo: choice of experimented entrepreneurs

The Alfred Boivin Group in Chicoutimi (Qc) owns and uses more than 1,000 machines for their winter and summer activities, but they admit they never had an equipment as efficient as their Merlo Multifarmer 30.9.

Mr. Pierre Grenier, owner of the company Briquetal, chose the Roto 40.25 MCSS of Merlo for its lifting capacity and its 82 ft of boom, but also because it allows him to be very flexible, even in heavy circulation. Thanks to its continuous rotation capacity which eliminates repositioning movements of the machine (back and forth) and the infinite deployment possibilities of the outriggers, according to the physical constraints, the work tempo remains optimal while assuring the safety on this highly touristic site.

"We visited Merlo's factory in Italy and since, my Project Managers only want this machine. Impossible to not trust these products after we have seen how they are made and the attention Merlo gives to quality and what they are capable of" said Mr. Grenier.

Previously, the company Briquetal worked with a SkyTrak 10054. By changing for a Merlo, they not only won 28 ft of boom and more than 200 lb of platform capacity, but they are now capable of controlling the machine from the platform. This benefit alone allows savings equivalent to one man's work on the site.

"The cost-effective benefits, in term of productivity, left us no choice; we had to get a second 40.25 MCSS, only one year after the acquisition of the fist one, so that all our teams are as productive and profitable" said Mr. Grenier.

With its 9,000 lb lifting capacity and 82 ft of boom and offering a 100' work zone coverage without moving the machine, the Roto 40.25 MCSS is unique in its category. Fuel efficient and able to reach a 40 km/h speed, it has all the characteristics that make Merlo famous (360 degrees vision, full anti-torsion chassis built with the exclusive Ring of SteelTM, class 1 hydrostatic transmission, compatibility with the 90 Merlo attachments, etc.).
