For 2 years now, Manulift is part of the class Health and Safety on the Farm at the Institut de technologie agroalimentaire, campus Saint-Hyacinthe, a food-processing technology institute.
This school, with its impressive infrastructures, groups together 70 % of the students of the province of Quebec registered in initial training programs specific to the agricultural industry. Besides offering training and a know-how recognized in more than 25 countries, this center promotes technological innovation by contributing to the competitiveness improvement of agricultural companies.
It was very natural for Ms. Julie Pivin, Health and Safety professor at ITA, to integrate a presentation about safety improvements that can be generated on a farm with a Merlo Multifarmer besides introducing to the future farmers the use of more productive methods of work.
The section of Health and Safety class given by Manulift is divided into two segments; a theoretical course which presents the safety benefits and a live demonstration of the machine. Because this year, two students already possessed a Merlo, they were able, with concrete examples, to demonstrate the utility of Merlo products on a farm. "You have to see it to believe it" summarized best the astonishment of the participants.
Merlo's Multifarmer is the perfect fusion of a telehandler and a tractor. With the aim of maximizing potential uses, it is the only one to possess a telescopic boom at the front (reaching up to 30'), 3 points hitch and PTO at the back with a powerful mechanical strength (110 hp PTO). Economic in fuel (40% of a tractor) and able to reach a 40 km/h speed, it has all the characteristics that make Merlo famous (360 degrees vision, full anti-torsion chassis built with the exclusive Ring of Steel TM, Class 1 hydrostatic transmission and compatible with the 90 Merlo's attachments).
