The St-Polycarpe branch office of William Houde in Quebec cannot run without its Merlo 32.6 Plus for the seasons when bulk products and lime are in demand. This branch office has always used Bobcat TM in the past but last fall agreed to try out a Merlo. They took advantage of the Manulift rental service to put a 1,800 litres (2.3 cubic yards) Merlo bucket to the test.
The final results were conclusive. They are taking advantage of our rental service for approximately six months of the year covering the time needed for seeding and lime application.
Mr.Yannick Bourbonnais, the St-Poylcarpe Plant Manager, was not surprised to see the Merlo 32.6 Plus this spring, "A single bucket allows us to carry 1,500 kg (3,300 lb) of bulk material whereas a Bobcat TM (skid steer) carries 500 kg (1,100 lb). With the Merlo, one "back and forth" is worth 3 with past equipments and this means increased productivity."
William Houde also tried out a wheel loader a few years ago but its reach was not high enough to unload the material. The proposed makeshift extension reduced the bucket capacity. As well, the wheel loader was very unstable and did not perform well in the field due to its weight and central articulation. The Merlo 4X4X4 is the exact opposite. Its four wheel drive is, in fact, four directional wheels. For those who know directional technology, Merlo has automatic resynchronization. In addition, the agile 32.6 Plus weighs half as much as the wheel loader.
It is obvious that with its 3,200 kg (7,000 lb) capacity and 6 m (20') the Merlo Panoramic 32.6 Plus telehandler is superior in terms of efficiency to any other type of bulk handler. As well, the Merlo quick connectors fitting system is great for different tasks requiring various types of attachments. The Merlo 32.6 Plus offers a better power/dimension ratio than any equipment available on the market.
The Panoramic 32.6 Plus telehandler is powered by a 102 hp Deutz fuel-saving motor. It comes equipped with all the other exclusive features for which Merlo is internationally renowned such as the 3'' anti-torsion ring of steel, the chassis, the Class 1 hydrostatic transmission, 360 degree visibility as well as other patented innovations.
Manulift, with installations in Quebec City, Montreal and Toronto, is the Canadian importer of Merlo products and is proud to make these innovative telehandlers available to Canadian agricultural producers. The Manulift rental service makes it possible to test the Merlo products. With 400 units, Manulift has the most impressive fleet of telehandlers available in Canada and ranks 15 th in North America.
The popularity of the Merlo products has been proven with more than 550 telehandlers sold in Canada over the last 5 years. For over 40 years, Merlo has been the international leader in innovative telehandlers. Today, with a daily production of 28 units, Merlo's telehandlers are in demand all over the world.
