Manulift launched the new Merlo Compact P25.6 on May 28, 2010 and Mr. Coito from Covic Landscaping was so impressed, he bought one the same night.
Owning a landscaping business in the Greater Toronto Area, Covic's day to day work consist of loading and unloading stones and pavements, handling material on site and erecting stone walls and embankments, all that, in very restricted spaces. The new Merlo Compact P25.6 was then perfect for this company with its 5.9 ft wide and 6 ft high.
Nevertheless, this telehandler represents the ultimate concentrated force.
Covic chose the Merlo Compact P25.6 amongst three other brands because of its 5,500 lb lifting capacity, the rapid 20 ft boom, its 36 km/h travel speed and the hydraulic Quick Attach TM. With all those features, unique to Merlo, this company gains productivity and safety while saving on time, transportation costs and labour. For example, their work requires, in alternation, the use of the forks and the bucket. With the Quick Attach TM, switching between forks and bucket (more than 20 times a day) is no longer a waste of time. It also has all the characteristics that make Merlo famous (360 degrees vision, full anti-torsion chassis built with the exclusive Ring of Steel TM, class 1 hydrostatic transmission and compatible with the 90 Merlo's attachments).
Also, because the Compact P25.6 is able to go around obstacles, the full process is now automated. Before, the skid steer they had was too big to go everywhere on site and men had to unload and carry manually stones and material to reach certain portion of the site. This situation consumed time, money, productivity and was not ideal for the workers' security. The skid steer was also not strong enough to lift a skid of blocks from a trailer; workers had to remove half of the skid before the skid steer could take the other half off the truck. Furthermore, the frontal reach allows Covic (as shown in upper picture) to fill up a space with soil without damaging or even touching the new wall.
Mr. Coito is so delighted with his new Merlo that he already is thinking about buying another Merlo for his sandpit. He knows all Merlo's models offer unrivaled accuracy and agility for material handling.
