A strong partnership
The Quebec City Ice Hotel, which recently won the Business Excellence Award at the Canadian Tourism Awards, has chosen Manulift as its official supplier of heavy machinery, with its Merlo machines ensuring the hotel's construction for the next three years.
For several years now, Merlo telehandlers have been heavily used to build the hotel before you can enjoy the ice walls, snow arches, and ice sculptures. Their precision, compact size, and versatility are just some of the reasons why the team at the Ice Hotel, owned by the Calypso Valcartier Group, loves them. The group has also agreed to test a machine for the construction of the Val Cartier Vacation Village or Calypso Water Park in the spring!
Merlo machines are designed to perform in Canadian winters. Before even being shipped to Canada from Italy, each machine is put through its paces in a climate test chamber that can reach -40 degrees Celsius. Capable of working quickly and efficiently without sacrificing power, Merlo is the perfect choice for building this unique destination.
During this winter's opening, two machines will remain on site to clear snow.
The Ice Hotel will be open from January 2 to March 20, 2022.
