Manulift helps Santa Claus with a Merlo telescopic handler

For 14 years, the Grand sapin de Sainte-Justine has been lit up in proportion to the donations received from the public, much to the delight of the children at this hospital and their parents. This year, Santa Claus took a break from preparing gifts to make this final lighting a magical and memorable moment. When the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation asked him to climb to the top of the tree himself to light up the star, his reaction was instantaneous: “It would be my pleasure! I only have one request: in order to be efficient and safe, I want to climb using a Merlo Roto.” It's impossible to refuse Santa Claus anything! So the elves at Manulift got to work and did everything they could to provide Santa Claus with a Merlo Roto 50.35 S Plus, equipped with a remote-controlled platform, to make the children of Sainte-Justine's eyes light up.

Une année de tous les records, au bénéfice des enfants hospitalisés

The Grand Sapin is a fundraiser for the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation, whose mission is to support CHU Sainte-Justine, the only healthcare facility in Quebec dedicated exclusively to children, adolescents, and mothers. The public is invited to light up the Grand Sapin to raise funds for the Foundation and bring joy to the hearts of hospitalized children. In addition to being a symbol of hope and comfort for Sainte-Justine families, the tree warms the hearts of hospital staff and demonstrates the community's support for them. People have been particularly generous this year! The goal of 350,000 lights was greatly exceeded: the tree sparkled with more than 490,000 lights, raising a record amount in donations.

Manulift X Santa

It was only natural for the Manulift team to get involved with the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation. It's a cause that is truly close to our hearts. And let's be honest, helping out the man who brings joy to billions of children around the world every year is truly an honor for us. Although, we must admit, competing with Santa's magic sleigh is no easy task!

Santa chose to trust the Merlo Roto 5035 S Plus available at Manulift for this delicate task, primarily because of its versatility and precision. Comfortably seated on his lifting platform, which is much more comfortable than his sleigh, Santa Claus was able to safely light the star on the Great Tree thanks to the machine's powerful stabilizers and 360-degree rotation of the turret.

‘With its 100% hydrostatic transmission and maximum load capacity of 4,950 kg, if the Merlo Roto could fly, I would trade it for my reindeer! HO HO HO! I am currently in discussions with the experts at Manulift and their financing team to purchase one for the renovation work I need to do at the North Pole.’ – Santa Claus

Manulift commits to a three-year partnership with the Sainte Justine University Hospital Foundation

The big tree and its star are lit up, Santa Claus is happy, and we've been good this year, but Manulift's mission with the Foundation doesn't stop there. We are proud to commit to financially supporting the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation for the next three years to bring a little joy to the children of Sainte-Justine and their parents. And we also promise to always be there for Santa Claus! Whether it's for renovations at the North Pole or to reach the top of a tree or chimney, he can count on the Manulift elves.
