A poultry producer takes care of her community while increasing her productivity!

Jennifer Paquet is a chicken and turkey producer in Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier at Fermes Avicoles Paquet. While living in Montreal and starting a completely different career, certain events precipitated things in such a way that Jennifer and her sister quickly took over their father's farm. A few years later, not only do they love their job, but their business is also growing steadily.

Merlo: Versatile machines at the heart of operations

As on any modern poultry farm, Merlo telehandlers are mainly used for loading manure, but their versatility, strength, speed, and compactness allow them to perform a wide range of tasks on the farm. They have quickly become an indispensable tool for the optimal functioning of the business.

“Being a farmer is a way of life. You have to want to show up in the morning because you have to show up every morning! More and more, the next generation is educated. A farm is a business, it's management, all aspects of accounting, finances, you do everything,” says Jennifer Paquet.

The variety of tasks that agricultural producers like Jennifer have to perform means that they need versatile machinery. That's why farmers trust Merlo telehandlers. For Jennifer, the ease of operating a Merlo and its compact design are some of the main reasons why she loves her telehandlers!

Efficiency, productivity, but also comfort and safety

“Having machines that are safe and efficient saves time and reduces errors. As a manager, the speed of the machine is an advantage. For my operators, it's the comfort of the cab and ease of operation,” adds Jennifer.

Even though Fermes Avicoles Paquet is a family farm, they still have about ten full-time employees. Their workers are essential to the business. Jennifer considers them an extension of the family, and it is very important to her to take good care of her people.

To achieve this, they have implemented several cutting-edge technologies to optimize their operations, including two Merlo P27.6 EE top low cab telehandlers, which are now central to their activities. Despite their growth, the Paquet sisters are committed to maintaining a family spirit within their company with their employees, their extended family.

Prioritizing the well-being, comfort, and safety of their employees, they trust Merlo machines to ensure long-term profitability and take care of their people.

Get involved with the UPA and the ACFA

It is this same spirit that drives her to get involved in her farming community, particularly with the UPA, to set up the ACFA initiative for farm workers in her region. She has joined forces with Manulift, her business partner and now her social commitment partner. At Manulift, we are privileged to be able to associate ourselves with causes that are close to our hearts and with agricultural producers who have a big heart.
