When Merlo makes a dream come true
When Dale Thompson of Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada, founded Thompson Construction Inc. in 2012, his goal was to make his customers' dreams come true.
The company offers full-service residential, commercial and industrial construction. Over the years, Dale and his team have built a solid reputation based on reliability, trust and respect for their customers' needs. While the completion of a project is always a special moment for the team, nothing compares to the delivery they made on September 5, 2020.
Parker, a customer out of the ordinary
The Children's Wish Foundation contacted Dale Thompson's team for an extraordinary child, Parker. The young boy suffers from a rare neurological disorder that makes him particularly sensitive to sunlight.
Although he loves being outdoors, he can't play there for very long, and can't enjoy the backyard of his home. His family therefore made a wish to the foundation for a garden pavilion to enable him to enjoy himself to the full.
Known for his big heart, Dale Thompson was an ideal ally for this wonderful adventure. The foundation provided the materials, and the Thompson Construction team volunteered their time to build the gazebo.
The proud owner estimates that it took about 40 hours of work, evenings and weekends, to assemble the 9.29 m2 structure, adding that his employees were all more than happy to lend a hand to the foundation.
"This is the first time we've worked with the Children's Wish Foundation, and the guys were more than up to the task. I'm really proud of my team," says Dale Thompson.
Merlo gets the job done!
The 1,587-ton gazebo was placed on a concrete slab in the backyard of the family's Niagara Falls home. With limited access to the yard, the task demanded maximum precision. The Merlo Panoramic 40.17 purchased from Manulift, Merlo's exclusive distributor in Canada, did the job perfectly.
"Without the Merlo 40.17, it would simply have been impossible! Access was limited and very narrow, no other machine could have done it. Merlo was ideal for the job!" said Thompson.
An impressive green machine
Parker will long remember Merlo's visit to his home! The young boy watched the whole operation very closely, and never took his eyes off the machine for a second. It was quite an experience for the young customer to see the big green machine in his backyard. It was quite an experience for the boy, and an emotional moment for the Thompson Construction team.
Many hours of play await Parker in his new garden pavilion. Thanks to the support of the Children's Wish Foundation, and the involvement of Thompson Construction, Multi-Trade Rental, Manulift and Merlo, Parker now has a safe place to enjoy his yard.
