Discover how Winston Miller and his Roto Merlo 50.35 changed the carpentry industry!

During a busy day on a construction site in the Ottawa area, you may not see Winston Miller at all. While the rest of his team works outside on their residential framing projects, Winston spends nearly 10 hours a day inside the tinted glass cab of his Merlo Roto 50.35. He's the conductor of the orchestra!

Comfortably seated at the controls of his Roto, he is able to manage all operations using headphones and cameras that he has attached to the mast of his machine.

“The Roto is a game changer. I can manage the entire site, I can be in the machine on the phone organizing trucks, I can talk to the guys, and I can supervise everything. I can focus on directing the guys, and we quickly reach our cruising speed. The cab is a place where I can be super efficient,” says Winston.

Their Roto 50.35 is one of three Merlo telehandlers in Winston's fleet. They also have a P72.10 and a P25.6, which are used to unload trucks, transport and position equipment to speed up installation.

“I know our operating costs, I know our revenues, and it would be impossible to do everything we do without our machines. You know, a lot of people would say I'm crazy to have three machines on a job site, but we often use all three at the same time. The results speak for themselves,” says Winston.

Winston and his team are unbeatable thanks to the speed with which they can complete projects. They even have a reputation for being a team that can quickly deliver any project. Thanks to their team spirit, they are always ready to increase their speed of execution without sacrificing quality. Their mantra can even be read on their T-shirts and helmets: “Frame Like A Pro.”

“When I bought my Roto Merlo, everyone in the industry told me I would go bankrupt in six months. My goal was to take on any project and be the fastest to complete it. Everyone told me my plan wouldn't work... Look at us now!” says Winston.

Surround Yourself with the Best

His team is young, motivated, and extremely talented. Thanks to the versatility and efficiency of their Merlo Roto, Winston's team can focus on installing wall panels, nailing floors, and building balconies for 3- or 4-story residential buildings. He often says that he pays his team to do framing, not to haul lumber! So whenever his team has to haul anything, it's wasted time, because the machine can do it nonstop all day long like a construction robot!

Winston values his relationship with the Manulift team. When you're working at such breakneck speeds, you need a service that will be fast and get you back up and running as soon as possible if something happens. The Manulift team offers fast, 24/7 service.

Just a stone's throw from the Canadian Tire Centre, home of the Ottawa Senators, the Manulift team decided to see for themselves how efficient Winston and his team were. They really impressed us with their flawless system and how they get the most out of their machine. Watch the full testimonial from “Winston The Framer” here:
